Price: $325 Per Person

Early Morning: Depart Taumarunui 7.30am  via rail cart – Arrive back via jet boat approx 3.00pm

Late Morning: Depart Taumarunui 11.00am via jet boat – Arrive back via RailCart approx 5.00pm

The Adventure: 

With two departure times, you can enjoy an earlier start from our Taumarunui depot and ride the rails first to arrive at Tokirima to your welcoming lunch.  Board our shuttle to be taken down to the Ohinepane Landing to board the jet boat for an informative river journey back to Taumarunui.

Alternatively, start later in the morning.  Board our shuttle to the waiting jet boat at Taumarunui's Cherry Grove. Journey down the river to the Ohinepane Landing.  A short shuttle ride will deliver you to your welcoming lunch after which board your RailCart for a fun 30 kms on the rails back to Taumarunui. Truly unforgettable.

What to bring:

In this region the weather is changeable and it’s best to prepare for all conditions no matter the season  

Clothing that can be layered, including warm thermal/merino clothing with a good wind/rain jacket or shell is ideal

It can be very cool in the tunnels even in summer

We suggest you have the following:

  • Sunglasses
  • Camera
  • Binoculars
  • Water and extra snacks if required
  • Windproof jacket with hood even in fine weather
  • Hat, scarf and gloves
  • Sturdy footwear with warm socks
  • Pack a rainproof coat and over-trousers
  • Any personal medication as required
  • Often we now have local artisans offering a variety of local produce for sale at some of our stops.  You may like to bring along a little cash in case something appeals.
