From daylight ’til dark this was one of the best excursions I have ever experienced. The organisation was great, the personnel were friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and helpful. The rail journey was fun and the stopovers and refreshments were first class. Highly recommend to anyone with an interest in early NZ history, a love of the outdoors and even a smidgen of a sense of adventure. You will meet some lovely people, see some amazing scenery, and learn things about our country that will probably surprise and delight you.
