It’s the second time we have done the Republic package including staying overnight at the fabulous Whangamamona pub. We enjoyed the first time so much we invited a whole bunch of our mates to repeat the adventure with us a year later. It’s such a magic way to see a part of the King Country that is really difficult to access. Our host on the day was Erika – she was incredibly knowledgeable and made the trip really fascinating. Our bus driver for the return journeys was very much the same. Employing locals that have lived in the area for most of their lives is such a good idea. The team at the FWA go out of their way to make the trip a pleasure. Staying overnight at the Whangamamona Pub is a must. Real old NZ charm. The owner and his daughter are incredibly friendly.
