Privacy Policy

We recognise that privacy is important to you and we are committed to protecting the personal information we collect about you. Forgotten World Adventures complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information.  Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).  This policy sets out how we will collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.  This policy does not limit or exclude any of your rights under the Act.  If you wish to seek further information on the Act, see www.privacy.org.nz

Types of information collected

We collect personal information from you, including your:

  • contact information (such as home address, contact phone number and email address)
  • location
  • gender
  • age range
  • interactions with us
  • billing or purchase information
  • dietary requirements
  • how you found out about us

 

Purposes of collection

Generally, we will collect and use your personal information for one or more of the following reasons:

  • to deliver and facilitate delivery of services to you
  • to send administrative messages to you
  • to request feedback from you
  • to fulfil and manage your bookings or requests
  • for promotional and marketing purposes, including communicating information about our products and services (with your consent)
  • to provide information and services to you or someone else you know
  • to undertake various activities required by law
  • to process a booking you have made
  • to better understand our guest profile and demographics
  • to facilitate our internal business operations, including the fulfilment of any legal requirements; and analysing our services and customer needs with a view to developing new and/or improved services

 

Methods of collection

Personal information will generally be collected directly from you through the use of any of our standard forms, over the internet, via email or through a meeting or telephone conversation. There may, however, be some instances where personal information about you will be collected indirectly because it it impractical to collect personal information directly from you (if you are booking your experience or stay with us via a third party for example, or someone is making the booking on your behalf.) We may obtain personal information about you from other organisations with which we have affiliations, where the transfer of your information to us is legal and in keeping with this privacy policy.

 

Failure to provide information

Providing some information is optional. If the personal information you provide to us is incomplete and/or inaccurate, we may be unable to provide you, or someone else you know, with the services you or they are seeking.

 

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of linked websites and so linked websites are not subject to our privacy policies and procedures.

 

Storage of your personal information

We will store your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. 

 

Security

We store your personal information in different ways, including on paper and in electronic form. We take commercially reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information is stored safely to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure and use electronic and physical security measures.

 

Access

You have the right to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
