We were invited to feature in a recent episode of Country Calendar entitled “A Steep Climb” which aired on 16th August. The episode was part of the show’s ‘Proudly celebrating 60 years of rural New Zealand’ series and featured Trevor Johnson, owner of Paparata Station, 50km west of Taumarunui. The King Country farmer shares insights into the land he has farmed for five decades and enjoys a trip on our rail carts while reminiscing about his childhood in Tokirima, where he grew up alongside the old King Country to Taranaki railway line. Tune in to see some fine mustering of sheep and cattle and some seriously passionate locals who share personal stories of how their lives are connected with the land. We were thrilled to be part of this episode and to help showcase some of New Zealand’s finest hill country. Enjoy!
