An extremely interesting trip which presented the history of the area and the building of the rail line. It would be one of the best organised trips my wife and I have been on. We have been on many trips in NZ and overseas. The tour was very well organised, and the guides were so knowledgeable that we had a great history lesson of the area, and how the tunnels and rail line was constructed. The morning and afternoon teas were extremely tasty with home made cooking of cakes, biscuits and fruit. The mail run we went on beside the Whanganui River was very interesting and another good history lesson from the driver. The Blue Duck experience, was excellent. Nice dinner and a great cooked breakfast. Comfortable accommodation. Learnt some interesting facts on how the farm works. With hunting trips, canoe trips, jet boat ventures and many other historical points. We missed out on our two jet boat rides but we have been offered adequate compensation. We would thoroughly recommend. Very interesting and well organised.
