Please note that a reasonable level of fitness is required to complete the bushwalk. Although this is a well-formed, reasonably flat track, it can be slippery at times, therefore appropriate shoes with a good grip should be worn.

Board our bus that will transport you down to Pipiriki and your entrance to the river.
Travelling upstream on the Whanganui River - the second river only in NZ to have a legal identity of its own, you’ll see deep gorges masked in native bush,banks encased with ferns, caves and waterfalls. You will hear the stories of historical settlements both Maori and European that were once part of the magnificent Whanganui National Park.
Arrive at the Mangaparua landing - gateway to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. Take a beautiful and easy 40 minute (2.5kms) native bush walk to the bridge on a well formed track.
Here you can sit and relax, and imagine what it must have been like to live there for the families attempting to farm this rugged country.
At a lovely DOC picnic spot just along the river your lunch will be ready to be enjoyed before climbing aboard for the remaining journey through bush and rolling farmland, through deep gorges and over gently bubbling rapids, up to Taumarunui.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take children under the age of three years old in the jet boat.
The Bridge to Nowhere Escape requires a minimum number of 10 full fare adults to cover minimum operating costs. Should we not have enough passengers to run, we hold the right to cancel the tour. Notification will be given 1 month (30 days) before Tour departure if we are unable to depart and we will look for alternatives for you.

a) We will change your booking date/time to the next available and confirmed departure date.
b) Cancel your trip and be fully refunded after notice of cancellation has been given.
