Depart Stratford and travel by road to Whangamomona. Enjoy a walk around the Republic and maybe a coffee at the Whangamomona Hotel before heading to the Whangamomona Station and your waiting Railcart.
Discover ever-changing vistas as you learn about the history of the area and the stories of the settlers. See redwood plantations, pine forest and deer farms and get up close and personal with local wildlife deep in the heart of sheep and beef country. Travel on the largest bridge over the Patea River, and discover Taranaki dairy farmland all while marvelling at the spectacular Mt Taranaki dominating the skyline. Once you leave your railcart at Stratford, board our shuttle for a short 5 minute journey back to the depot at the Stratford Heritage Lodge.

Depart Stratford for a short shuttle ride to your Railcarts on the line ready to take you to the Republic of Whangamomona. Enjoy all the scenery, stories and highlights of Option 1. Stop for morning tea at Douglas Station, then continue your journey on to TeWera Station siding. Visit an organic farm with the opportunity to sample and buy locally made produce. Once in Whangamomona, take a stroll around the Republic or enjoy a drink at the iconic Whangamomona Hotel before boarding your shuttle back to Stratford.
